Some news from close to home: the Canadian federal government  has announced it will invest $11 million to upgrade and expand Vancouver Island cycling and pedestrian infrastructure. Nice!

According to this CTV article, close to $2.4 million will go to the University of Victoria to improve bikeability and safety on campus. Funds will also go to improving active transportation infrastructure such as walkways and bike lanes in Saanich, Esquimalt, and Qualicum Beach.

(Now throw some of that sweet, sweet cycling infrastructure funding over here to this side of the strait, pretty please and thank you. 🙏 🚲)
